This platform racks is going to allow you to carry up to two bikes to and from the trails. You can see it has a very nice upward angled slope to it, that's going to help out with a lot of ground clearance, just give you that more height at the back. So any curbs or anything you go up, you're not going to have too many issues bottoming out.Cool feature about this rack is that it can tilt away with bikes loaded, to give you access to the trunk. more

Colin: Hey, everyone. I'm Colin here at Etrailer and today, we're gonna do a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE two bike electric bike rack on our 2015 Jeep Patriot. Now this two bike rack is pretty bolstered up. Its reinforced construction is going to be able to handle two electric bikes weighing up to 80 pounds each. So that's very sturdy. It's gonna be able to handle those bikes, unlike a lot of other bike racks out there where the weight might be too much for it, especially when you're traveling at high speeds. more

The unique thing about the Helium Pro is that it's going to be a very lightweight bike rack, but it's still going to be sturdy enough to have on the back of your SUV, car, truck or even a motor home.Now, it's going to have three points of contact on our bike. It is a hanging style, as you can see, so we'll have our three straps to undo. They've changed up their straps a little bit. They used to be kind of a rubbery, sort of a hole and peg kind of style and now they've got this cam strap with a flexible plastic construction. more

This is going to be for electric bikes, and we have it here on our 2015 Jeep Patriot.The nice thing about this rack is that it's really been bulked up specifically for electric bikes, which tend to be heavier. So it's got a pretty high weight rating as far as that, just about the highest rating I've seen out there. It'll be able to handle bikes that are up to 80 lbs. each or 160 lbs. more

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2015 Jeep Patriot, we'll be doing a test fit on a Yakima Ridgeback, part number Y02457.I'd like to start off by showing you how the bike itself attaches to the bike rack. It attaches with the zip strips on top here, which are very nice because they're very easy to remove and to place back in.Let's go ahead and take those three off and you just simply remove your bike. Now, while we've got these zip strips here, let me go ahead and show you how you put them on, you just simply place them in there and zip them down. Next, I'd like to show you how the function works of tilting. The bike rack folds in like so. Let's get a measurement on the full length, it's about 24 inches to the outest edge.With it down, it's about 11 inches and the closest point is about five-and-a-half inches. more

Yakima SwingDaddy Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Jeep Patriot- Video
Today, on our 2016 Jeep Patriot, we're going to be test-fitting the Yakima Swingdaddy 4-bike rack for 2-inch hitches, part number Y02464. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. The biggest feature about this rack is they can swing away from the vehicle, so you have full rear hatch access, which is pretty unique for a hanging style back rack. To do that, we'll come to this handle right here. We'll unscrew it from the back all the way until it hangs down, and then we'll lift up on this gray tab here, which will release it, and push it out a little bit. We'll pull it out until it's about 90 degrees or so from the vehicle or before we make contact with the tire to the vehicle, and then we'll swing it around until you hear that click, and then push it the rest of the way. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Jeep Patriot- Video
Today on our 2016 Jeep Patriot we're going to be test fitting the Thule Doubletrack Pro 2-bike platform rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number TH9054. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. How this bike is gripped to the bike rack, we're going to have three points of contact. We're going to have this frame clamp up at the top here as well as these two wheel straps on either side. The wheel cradles themselves, by lifting up these gray handles, are adjustable to accommodate bikes of different sizes, and these clamps do move out of the way for easy loading and unloading. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. more

Today on our 2016 Jeep Patriot we're going to be test fitting the Thule T2 Classic 2 Bike Rack. Part number TH9044. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. One of the more prominent features of this bike rack is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with two bikes still attached to get to our rear hatch. In order to do that we'll pull this silver pin at the base first, then pull this lever towards while holding onto the bike rack and letting it come down. Now we have full access to our rear hatch to get what we need, and plenty of space in between the hatch and the bike rack. Lift it back up into position by just lifting up on the bike rack until you hear it click. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Jeep Patriot- Video
Today in our 2011 Jeep Patriot, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman XC2 Bike Rack, part number S64650. This bike rack will fit both inch and a quarter and two inch hitches. We already have our bike installed so let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the other features. How it actually attaches to the bike rack we're going to have one point of contact, and that's going to be this padded frame hook up at the top. Now, it's padded so once you install your bike, it will not get scratched up. It also has the wheel cradles which are adjustable along the arms of the bike rack itself by loosening up and tightening these knobs. more

Yakima FullTilt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Jeep Patriot- Video
Today on our 2015 Jeep Patriot we're test fitting the Yakima FullTilt. This is a folding and tilting 4-Bike rack. It's been designed so you can use it with inch and a quarter or two inch hitches, part number on it is Y02462. The FullTilt is going to have three cradles that are going to hold each bike in place, going to have two here for the top frame two, then also an anti-sway cradle here on the back. It does a really good job of keeping everything held in place. To release them, they use what are called zip strips. I like the zip strips. more

Today on our 2015 Jeep Patriot we're test fitting the Thule Roadway. This is a hanging style tube bike rack. They've designed it for use with the inch and a quarter or with 2" hitches. The part number on it is TH912XTR. The Roadway does a great job of holding our bikes in place. We're using 2 top straps and a strap here on the rear tube. more

The part number on it is TH9029XT. Something that's pretty neat about the rack is going to be the cable lock that's incorporated right up into the mast. It will come back and connect in the slot here. more

Thule Apex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Jeep Patriot- Video
Today we have with us the 2011 Jeep Patriot, and we're going to be test fitting the Thule Apex 4 Hitch Mounted BikeCarrier part number th9025. To mount the carrier to our vehicle, were going to insert the shank of our bike rack into thereceiver tube of our vehicle. Well push it forward until the self-latching hitch pin closes in on our hitch pinhole. Then welltighten down the anti-rattle device to take out any play between the bike rack and hitch. Once weve made sure our bikerack is secure, were going to go ahead and check some clearance measurements behind our vehicle. Theres about 2 inchesof rear clearance from the furthest point of our bumper to our hand knob. more

SportRack EZ Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Jeep Patriot- Video
Today we have with us the 2011 Jeep Patriot. We're going to be testing the SportRackEZ 2 Hitch Mounted Bike Carrier part number a30901. To mount the bike rack to ourvehicle, we'll insert the shank of the rack into the receiver tube on our hitch.We'll line up the hitch pinholes and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt using a3/4 inch wrench. With the bike rack secured to our hitch, we're going to check someclearance measurements at the rear of our vehicle. There's about 6 inches of rearclearance from the furthest point of our bumper to the closest point ofthe bike rack. We've added about 23 inches of overall length, and there'sabout 15 inches of ground clearance from the bottom of the bike rack to the ground.Next we'll check for rear vehicle access. more
